Day Pass

Since we don't have a car, our weekend errands are fueled by the purchase and use of a transit day pass. The transit system here has this great deal on weekends and holidays where the day pass (i.e. unlimited rides for the day) can be used for 2 adults (vs. just one rider per pass on weekdays). That means you break even when two people ride one round-trip each.

We usually don't go far beyond our little downtown bubble, and most times just to go out to eat or shopping. Sometimes we get it even if we are just doing one round-trip somewhere, because it's easier to carry around than 4 tokens. Sometimes, it's just fun to feel you can go anywhere extra and it won't cost you more.

Today, we had dinner plans out on the east part of town, so we figured we get it early and go around to places that are really within less than 1km radius around our place. Again, it's just the fun of riding without paying extra. The most blog-worthy errand: Taking a poster I bought T for Christmas 2008 that had been rolled up in its original box to an art store to get it framed. That means this thing has moved with us twice (though I guess it is better to move in a box than a giant 24x40 frame). We're getting it canvased (sp?) instead of frame+glass, and we're excited to finally hang it up in our new home.
