Their wedding was on May 22nd in Toronto. All of our Vancouver friends flew over to celebrate. We hosted 4 of them, which is why we stressed about getting our remodels done before they came - success with 2 days to spare :)

Their wedding was July 3 in Vancouver. We flew out on Friday Jun 25 to avoid the craziness that was to ensue upon Toronto that weekend (phew, thank goodness. In case you didn't read the news, the chaos was downtown... we live downtown). The trip getting out of town was stressful, but we were happy to be on our way to beautiful BC. Our week was full of the usual: great food, great family, and great friends.
MMMmm. West coast seafood
Night market! Ate a rice burger - meat in between two pan-fried rice patties. Interesting, but salty.
Border crossing! (Seriously, who knew I'd be doing this so often...) We took a day trip to Seattle 'cause I had never been before. Toured Pike's Place Public Market, ate seafood where they filmed a scene in Sleepless in Seattle (Sat in the same spot too!), and saw the birthplace of Starbucks (the long line was not worth it). Like all of my trips to the US now, I also took advantage of some shopping :) $7 jeans, you can't beat that!

Taiwanese-style mango shaved ice. It's so finely shaved and not icy but smooth. So good, I had it two days in a row.

Cake Tradition
Thanks to my lovely husband, it is now a tradition amongst our friends to do this at weddings. It started 4 years ago, and it has grown in size and fun over the last 6 weddings.

I'm officially jealous about the mango shaved ice and the authentic gyros. Nice to see T getting so much use out of his tux. Looks like that investment that paid off.
