Cabinets are up!

I wanted to wait until everything was finished - "big reveal" - but that's not happening for another couple of days because of the countertops and wall fixings.   So here's the latest pictures of our kitchen: they installed the cabinets last week.  The front part of the kitchen has a similar layout - cabinet + sink, dishwasher and stove, then corner cabinet.  The corner base cabinet has a carousel for pots and pans - good thing too 'cause there's little room to get stuff from the corner now that the stove and fridge are in.  The previous kitchen didn't have anything in the back, just an empty space and wall.  We wanted more counter space and storage, so we added more cabinets to the back wall.

We had picked different handles at first, but then they didn't deliver them with the rest of the stuff.  We were mad at first 'cause it meant another trip to IKEA (for the nth time in the past couple of weeks) to get them.  Glad now 'cause we ended up getting different ones, which I think look a lot better :) 

The appliances got delivered, and we moved the fridge and stove into their spots (with the help of my coworkers - man, that fridge is heavy).  They still have plastic, so no pics yet - I'll leave those for the big reveal... Did manage to clean the fridge and plug it in - now we can have cold beverages!
