Here's what's happened in the last few days.
We got our W/D delivered, but the installers couldn't haul the old ones away because the water valve was not working. (they left the new ones in our living room, but said they would come back another day to install after plumbing was fixed). Had to get a plumber asap to review and fix the problem. Lined up a plumber to come, but then had some stress after finding out we might have to go w/ the building's plumber because of potential water shut-off to other units. Cancelled plumber. Found out water shut-off is in contained in our unit. Called plumber back. Water valve fixed. Scheduled W/D installers to come in. They haul-out old ones, stack new ones, then realize we can't plug the new dryer because the prongs are facing a certain way and the cord can't bend that much. Had to call an electrician asap (we only have a limited supply of clean clothes). Was able to get them to come next day (today). I figured the whole dryer outlet thing was a simple 180º rotate, but you don't want to mess w/ a 220-v outlet. And since they charge a minimum of 2-hours, we had them install our new kitchen lights and set up the range hood so it could connect properly to an outlet. YAY! Now we can plug our dryer, have new track lights, and our range hood will be ready to go after other stuff is installed.
Our countertops are also being installed today. Actually right now, hence why I have time to write this blog post :). Oh boy, it's loud. Hope our neighbo(u)rs don't hate us.
What a productive morning! (Productive for home, not at work. Hehe. Shhh) After today, there is hopefully one more thing and we are DONE! We are hoping that by next weekend, we will finally be able to enjoy are brand new shiny kitchen, and eat in.
To add some fun, I would like to poll my readers: "What should we cook for our first meal in our new place and new kitchen?"
