So far so good. I'll have to remember all the stuff we did and write about it later, but here are short highlights:
- Transit in Athens is great, although the airport line is partially closed which made the trip to/from a hassle.
- Gyros and souvlakis make an awesome and cheap meal.
- To our surprise, bottled water is cheap in Greece and Egypt. Less than 1 EUR or 5 LE (Egyptian pounds) for a 1.5 L bottle. We feel bad for not being environmentally friendly, but our stomachs do not want to take the risk with tap water and soda is expensive.
- Old ruins, gigantic pyramids and ancient symbols are cool. Mummies are creepy.
- Traffic in Cairo really is 24/7. The concept or following of lanes does not seem to exist here.
- Camels smell. Donkeys are cute, but they also smell.
- Harrassing for tips is number one on my list of not-great things about Egypt.
- My cheeks are pink now.
