Trip Update II

• Greek islands are beautiful.
• Scooters and ATVs rule the roads of Santorini. A note of clarification, the roads are well-paved and we're not talking about dirt or desert roads here - ATVs are rented out to those without motorcycle experience (or from our observation, non-Europeans).
• It is really cool and amazing to watch the greek island ferries dock and unload/load.
• Siesta time, 3pm-6pm, is big in Paros.
• Gyros are still a tasty and cheap meal. Pork is the best.
• We have now dipped our feet in the Mediterranean Sea.
• Sadly, I stupidly lost my Pompeii hat.
• We hope our hotel landlords don't think we are picky guests. In Santorini, after choosing a two-twin room on the 2nd floor over a double-bed room on the 1st floor and half-settling, we went back to the manager to ask for the double-bed instead. To our defense, the twins could not be joined very well, the TV didn't work and the hot water pressure was weak. The hotel was not at full capacity, and to our luck, he gave us a triple-bed room that was pretty big with a full shower (not a 2x2 space which seems to be the standard here) and a third bed to put our stuff on. In Paros, we asked twice to take care of an ant problem by our front door, asked for extra soap and towel, and reported a leaky AC (which was easily fixed by putting the external hose back on the floor instead of it pointing upwards - we didn't do it, we promise!).
