New York?

Yes, we went to New York this past weekend. No, unfortunately not NYC, but Niagara Falls, NY. And only for about 20 minutes. :)

We went down to Niagara (again) last Saturday. Last time it was to celebrate our 1-year anniversary. This time, to celebrate my Canadianess! After a bit of a long process in coming to Canada, the last step was actually to leave. So, for the second time this year, we headed to the border. (Say it with me, border crossings!). We crossed the famous Rainbow Bridge, took a quick peak at the falls from the bridge (a bit scary, though it would be cool to walk across), made a few turns around town (not much there, kind of sad actually, but it was funny to see man-made ski hill - think water-slide type structure but with snow blowers and snowboarders going down), and then headed back to cross again. We were worried at first, seeing the long lines, but then realized it was all people paying their duties after a day of shopping in the US. But the process was quick, checked in at the hotel and celebrated with a nice steak dinner. I am now officially a resident of the great north, eh!

First picture as a Canadian resident!

Of course, funny sign found along the way. Not quite in life order there...

After so many years of thinking "border crossings? seriously?", who would have thought I'd go through two in less than a year? I'm aiming to do Vancouver-Seattle sometime soon.
