Right, so after the late night on Thursday, there was another pre-wedding event / groom's birthday BBQ, complete with yummy ribs and piƱata. At night, we had dinner at our favo(u)rite Italian restaurant.

Then there was the wedding, which was held in the rainforest :) (I like making my blogger friend wonder what Panama is really like). It was at this nice hotel/resort by the canal's lake. We stayed the night to hang out, enjoy the pool and take in the scenery. We tried a nice bike ride along the lake, but it turned out to be a hard one with a one-speed bike, wet grass and mud, and one too many hills.

Those "Made in China" bamboo sticks made for good toys at the end of the night

Tradition now started thanks to some of our friends

Wedding crasher
On Sunday night, after enjoying dinner with lots of family, the house was busy packing and Joaquin's favo(u)rite bear underwent reconstructive surgery. My Mom, the teddy bear surgeon, did a great job in patching him up. It brought good ol' memories of my old soft doll, Patchy, who had half a nose and her cheeks painted. Pachy had a pet alligator, Allie, and other pet friends: Pichy, Pechy, Pochy and Puchy, though I don't remember what animal they were. Oops, got sidetracked again... As I've always thought, scars on a stuffed animal are simply a sign of how much he/she is loved :)

All of us Cham kids left on Monday morning - I think that was the first time we all left home on the same day!
One more picture of Joaquin for this set of posts. Next time we see him, he might be twirling bottles around!

So apparently Panama is full of rainforests, small plastic houses, italian food, teddy bears with facial reconstruction surgery, and cute toddlers. Good to know it's not all just fancy buses and compounds.
And Pinatas!
And CAKE!
Who said anything about fancy buses? These are old retired US school buses - used also for "public transit" in Panama.
Hope you come visit one day!
Sad that little car is now somewhere in Paris :(
That's a great picture in the little house. Tim looks like he's the one having the most fun.
