(51) Lauri-fest in NY

This weekend I went to NY to celebrate! and eat eat eat! :)

First on the weekend menu - Momofuko. A tiny noodle place in East Village, with yummy (fatty) pork buns and ramen; it's like peking duck with pork. MMMmmm. I was not allowed to open it.. hehe. "Eat it with your eyes close!". To top it off, dessert tarts from Veniero's.

Saturday, we visited the Central Park Zoo - no lions, here. But they had penguins and polar bears, although we think one of them was a robot 'cause it kept doing the same thing over and over again - swimming from one end: push backwards, stick out his tongue, and swim back from the corner. We'll leave out what the other polar bear was doing.

For dinner, Argentinian-style steak.. Mmmmm. chimichurri. And we left enough room for dessert at Max Brenner (aka, Chocolate from the bald guy). I saw this place on Rachel Ray's tasty travel last week, and had to check it out. There was the chocolat "hugmug" and chocolate syrup in a beaker.

The weekend also included lots and lots of rain on Sunday! It started late night, early morning Sunday. The morning saw a leaky window, which we couldn't stop, but help stop the flooding by using cups to catch the water.. hehe. Of course I had to take a pic of this. =P

Happy Belated Birthday Laura!! Sorry for the late birthday wishes. Things have been plenty busy round here, but that's no excuse. Looks like you had fun in NY.
