Christmast in LA - the detailed version

Time flies when you're having fun. And so went our 10-day holidays/vacation in LA. Time flies also when procrastinating, 'cause this is a few weeks late. But, here we go with a recap while I still remember!
  • Arrived Thursday late night. Stayed at Blam household, and discussed whether we've been to their new place or not. T says yes. I say no. Don't think we figured out.
  • Friday was my lazy day, catching up on tv via internet while everyone else worked and a bit of shopping. Dinner at yummy steakhouse - no celebrity sightings this time, but an exciting evening nonetheless as C+J share their news and we celebrate!
  • Saturday starts off with brunch of chicken wings and waffles (super yummy!!), and moving to JSO's place for a few days (awesome new place!). Mom arrives, and after a quick chaotic trip to Costco, we all enjoy a nice home-cooked meal for dinner.
  • All I can remember for Sunday is food: dim sum for lunch and spaghetti for dinner.
  • Christmas eve day starts we a quick trip down the Gold Line to Little Tokyo and some pork eating for lunch. A bit of last minute shopping and then off to the main show of Christmas eve dinner. Oh my! Turkey, homemade bread, various veggies with more pork products, mac 'n cheese, and apple crisp. Everything was super super yummy! We later connect to a multi-video conference and join in the annual Siu Christmas party - 7 screen hangout!
  • Christmas morning meant more yummy food - ham, salmon, deviled eggs, cauliflower, green beans with parmesan crisps, lomo and tamales! And lots of presents! Leftovers for dinner and babysitting duties at night.
  • Wednesday, the boys squeezed in a bit of tennis before a trip to the LA zoo. Dinner at our uncle's house - more yummy food and family fun! Hehe, I also have to document the boys' late night video games party, complete root beer and coke floats. :)
  • Off to Legoland we went! Reminds me, I still have to build my new lego helicopter and cars. Hehehe. Closing the night off with some chinese take-out, it was a full day of fun.
  • Friday was kids' day: real ones of age and those of us that are kids at heart. First was play time at Kidspace museum, another pork-filled lunch, followed by another quick last-minute shopping trip. In the afternoon, we went to the LA County Museum of Art to see the giant rock, the light poles and the metropolis II exhibit. Who wouldn't enjoy a giant exhibit of cars and trains, my transportation dorkiness aside :). Dinner at the LA Farmer's Market.
  • In contrast to the day before, Saturday was adults day in wine country. We drove down with Mom and CCC to Temecula to meet up with our good friends for some wine tasting and good eating. We also moved to JJJJ's place for the last few nights of our trip.
  • (Hehehe, I'm matching what they are doing on the golden globes right now and hurrying up the last bullet points 'cause I have to wrap it up and get some sleep)
  • Sunday included a failed attempt to eat at the famous taiwanese dumpling place, indoor kids playground at the mall, hanging out at home and another yummy home-cooked meal for dinner. T gets to play video games again (hehehe, something he's been wanting to do since Wednesday).
  • Last day of 2012, our last day in LA. We hang out at home for a bit before getting together with everyone for lunch at Abricot. (LA celebrity sighting accomplished on the last day!) And then off we go with CCC to the airport.
Thanks, JJJJ, JSO, Mom and CCC+J for hosting us in LA. We had an awesome time with everyone. Love you all! (PS: Dad, we missed you! Chamapalooza-LA 2012 edition wasn't the same without you, but you always taught us family is the most important. Hope the next family get-together is soon!)
