Thanksgiving Turkey "Ticket to Catan and Puerto Rico" Tournament!

We celebrated US thanksgiving last Saturday with a pot luck dinner with friends. We were in charge of turkey, cornbread and dessert. We invited a small group of friends, specially selected because we also wanted to play boardgames. Or as we jokingly called them, the Elite Eight invited to the first Tournament of CHAMpioNs!. It's nice to have friends that would enjoy a few hours of turn-based games :)

Our initial idea was to make it a tournament with multiple rounds of games, scoring based on what place you finish in a game, and a trophy for the winner (homemade game pieces made of clay in a cute glass jar)! Although we did get a game of Carcassonne while cooking the turkey and waiting for half the guests, good times were had in good company and good food and we only played one game with everyone (2 tables of 4 players, both tables playing Cities & Knights). With couples-based scoring, the trophy stayed home (a bit sad 'cause I wanted someone else to enjoy my fun-with-clay), but everyone got a clay mini-robber souvenir :)
