Weekend Eatings

As I mentioned a few posts back, it's restaurant week in TO. So what do you do when you can't decide between two restaurants and their yummy menus? Make reservations for Friday AND Saturday night :) Each meal was an appetizer, main and dessert.

Friday's Dinner
Appetizer #1: Crispy pork belly, scallion pancake pieces with hoisin drizzle

Appetizer #2: Baked lobster and crab soup with puff pastry on top

Main #1: Surf & Turf – Wood Grilled “Certified Angus” N.Y. strip steak & roasted cuban lobster tail in garlic butter, duck fat frites & vegetables. (Main #2 was a ribeye steak with the same sides).

Desserts: Vanilla cheesecake and chocolate brownie thing

Saturday's Dinner
Appetizer #1: Crab cakes with jalapen~o mayo

Appetizer #2: Crispy duck spring rolls

Main #1: Lamb shank with red wine and shallot sauce, with mashed potatoes and veggies

Main #2: Pecan crusted pork tenderloin with raspberry port wine sauce, with mashed potatoes and veggies

Oops, think I forgot to take a pictures of the desserts. We had apple crumble pie and a chocolate + banana-bread layer cake (great idea, so tasty!).

Sunday's Dinner
And last but not least, our Chinese New Year celebration at cousin A's house uptown. Lighter fare but as always very tasty. We had lots of mushrooms and veggies, law bock gow (a hit!), lamb shank with potatoes, shrimp in tomato sauce, and fried rice.

Guess I have to eat light this week...
