Around Chicago

Last weekend, our friends Gloria and Johnathan came to visit from Toronto, and even though we had seen them 2 weeks before, we had a great time catching up and exploring Chicago. Highlights included super-sale shopping, eating, site seeing, and eating.

A Chicago must for us, Wow Bao serves 'funky-flavo(u)red' baos. Their newest flavo(u)r - chocalate ginger coconut. Ooozy.

Chicago loves fireworks. They are usually in the summer, but there was a special celebration in February. As a bonus, it was Valentine's Day and they handed out these special "3D" glasses, which made light reflect as little hearts.

I hadn't really taken to deep dish pizza, until recently and only on special occassions (and it must be a multi-ingredient one). Cheesy.

We've been in Chicago for 1.5 years and we hadn't gotten a chance to try Garrett popcorn because the lines were always too long! We finally decided to wait it out and try it. On recommendation from the guy behind us in line, we got one bag of cheese and one of caramel - which you can ask for mixed, but it's better to mix them yourself. The popcorn was tasty, not sure why it is so popular but it was worth the cold hands we had to endure to eat (maybe we were just hungry).

The giant steel jelly bean is always fun. This time, I tried something new and took a picture from underneath the bean. Dizzy.
